Product description
Algae Lime
Natural calcium supply from seaweed (100% LITHOTHAMNIUM CALCAREUM)
Feed material
The seaweed Lithothamnium calcareum (red algae) is a natural source of calcium, magnesium and other minerals. Calcium is needed for a healthy bone metabolism and strong teeth and, together with magnesium, it supports muscle activity and the nerves. The seaweed is also characterised by a high bioavailability of calcium in the organism.
Canina® Algae Lime is an alternative to other calcium sources such as meat bone meal or eggshell powder, especially for dogs and cats who have intolerances to animal calcium sources. Canina® Algae Lime is ideal for puppies, young dogs, kittens and adult animals as well as for senior animals and pregnant/lactating dogs/cats. Canina® Algae Lime is a valuable supplement as a natural source of calcium for optimising the needs of cooked or raw meals as the phosphorus content of the algae is low and therefore the meat meal with a naturally high phosphorus content gets a balanced ratio of calcium to phosphorus (adult animals: calcium to phosphorus ratio 1.2 to 1).
